One of two founding members of the Data Management/ML Integration team. The team is responsible for systems for capturing, uploading, storing, and querying sensor/IoT data, and for pipelines for training machine learning models on image data. Worked primarily in Go.
Led the design and implementation of an on-robot system for recording sensor data in a highly performant, concurrent, and fault tolerant way. Written in Go.
Led design and implementation of system for efficiently uploading sensor data from robots to our cloud services, and to query uploaded data. Used Go, GCS, MongoDB, and gRPC.
Developed a managed service for training machine learning models on image data. Used gRPC, MongoDB, GCP/Vertex AI, and Go-based pipeline orchestration.
Developed an iOS application in Swift for live export of sensor data from iPhones to a central robot control system.
Mentored new grads and interns through weekly 1:1s, project guidance, and technical reviews.

Worked on Pixel Serving API team, responsible for low-latency identifier translation APIs serving over hundreds of thousands of RPS with >99.9% availability and producing billions of events daily. Worked primarily in Go.
Led team of engineers in the full-cycle development and validation of a new API for a major external partnership. Written in Go, deployed on GKE/GCP, monitored with OpenCensus/DataDog.
Led DevOps effort to redesign application infrastructure, resulting in infrastructure cost savings of over 30% per year, enhanced high-volume reliability, and reduced operational effort.
Scrum master of the team beginning January 2021, leading all engineering meetings, working with our PM to prioritize projects, and serving as a point person for external stakeholders.

Worked on the Data Ingestion team, responsible for ingestion, parsing, and anonymization of 10s of TBs and billions of records per day supporting a variety of data sources including S3, GCS, SFTP, and external APIs. Worked primarily in Java.
Migrated team’s services from co-located Linux servers to Docker/Kubernetes deployments on Terraform provisioned GCP infrastructure.
Created tooling for creation of ephemeral development environments adopted by 5+ teams. Wrote Terraform modules to automatically provision cloud infrastructure and a Jenkins CI/CD pipeline with automated multi-stage deploys and functional testing. Used Jenkins, Docker/Dockerfiles, Kubernetes, GCP.
