That means I have a lot to type... Being 2nd in command at a small firm, I've worn every hat (except accountant and principal). On the interiors side, that's designing and managing multiple projects simultaneously, start to finish. The design always begins with intense principal/colleague/client collaboration, with frequent check-ins during the course of a project. But soon I'm off and running with: - Sourcing (shopping, research, specs, samples, designing!) - Visuals (sketching, CAD, Adobe) - Presentation (boards, lead meetings w the principal and client) - Order & design management (spreadsheets, files, vendor/GC/sub collab, issue resolution, task delegation, estimates/PO's/invoices, physical materials archive) - Client relations (book & run meetings, site visitation, client calls/text, "emergencies", client relationship building!) - Time & task management - Installation (inspections, all logistics, "game day", follow up) - Project marketing (staging, photoshoots, copy, visuals). Wow that's a lot! Behind the curtain, I've also participated in in-house merriment (window displays, annual traditions, team building, laughing at it all!), showcase houses and design events. And I've done the general office management for 15 years although I am not interested in continuing with that responsibility. But uniquely, there's the company's to-the-trade furniture line. I am the lead on creating designs, drawing & prototyping, sourcing vendors & materials, pricing, marketing, production, managing showroom samples, quality control, issue resolution & all logistics. My foundation for all the above is a 4yr B.S. in Business Management, followed by years of retail work, then the passion pursuit of a 4yr B.S. in Interior Design. I was lucky enough to meet my current employer while still finishing school. My 17 years there have been broad and full (and thanks to the Financial Recession and the Pandemic, quite often trying).
