# Abhijeet Mishra > Robotics Engineer Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/abhijeetmishra I am a mechanical engineering graduate student at Columbia University specializing in Robotics. I want to apply robots to everyday tasks. I am specially interested in the fields of industrial and warehouse robotics, and want to build a system of robots coordinating with each other to manage entire warehouses or production lines with maximum efficiency! At Columbia University, I have gained proficiency in Robot Operating System (ROS), robot kinematics and path planning, robot learning and synthesis of robotic mechanisms. Over the summer, I worked on the development of an under-actuated arm in Dr. Matei's lab. I want to leverage these skills and experience to build smart robotic systems which can have a positive impact on the lives of people across the globe. ## Work Experience ### Robotics Software Engineer @ Realtime Robotics, Inc. Jan 2022 – Jan 2026 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States ### Robotics Engineer @ EverestLabs.AI Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | Fremont, California, United States ### Robotics Engineer Intern @ EverestLabs.AI Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Fremont, California, United States ### Robotics Intern @ Stealth Startup Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | San Jose, California, United States • Incorporated Motion Capture (Opti-Track) into the system to detect specific hand motions done by individuals anywhere in the 3D space. Developed the code in C++, which processed the Protobuf messages to detect and track different motions of objects. • Updated the codebase of workflow editor to read differents formats developed by the system and also save it in multiple formats. ### Graduate Student @ Columbia University in the City of New York Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | New York, New York, United States ### Intern, Robotic Manipulation and Mobility Lab @ Columbia University in the City of New York Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | New York, New York, United States ● Modified design of an underactuated three-fingered gripper such that motion of the fingers is independent of the effects of gravity, and can achieve the predefined grasps from any initial orientation. Gripper will be mounted on the Astrobee robot aboard the ISS. ● Cables actuated by a single motor control the eight joints of the three-fingered hand, while their trajectories are constrained by springs. The springs and pulleys were chosen such that the fingers can accomplish multiple grasps with the same trajectory. ### Course Assistant @ Columbia University in the City of New York Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater New York City Area ### Project Trainee @ Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Mumbai Area, India • Project Trainee in the Low Cost Automation department in the Material Handling Equipment Division of Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. • Designed and fabricated automated setups to test the useful life of several products and components. • Designed an automated system to replace the manual method of measuring the turning radius of the forklifts. ### Research Intern @ Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Mumbai Area, India • Intern at IIT-Bombay under the guidance of Dr. Rakesh Mote. • Designed and built a Pulse Electro-Chemical Machining (Pulse ECM) setup and conducted experiments to optimize the parameters required to reduce machining time and maintain a high level of accuracy. • Drilled holes with diameter 150 microns through titanium sheets. ### Undergraduate Project @ Corru Cartons India Pvt Ltd Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Mumbai Area, India • Conceptualized and developed a semi-automated quality control system to measure dimensions of 250 SKU's of corrugated boxes manufactured at the facility. • Facilitated inspection of 100% of the boxes manufactured, thereby improving the quality of product. • Designed the system to be intuitive and easy to use. ### Team Member (Transmission) @ Kraftwagen Jan 2014 – Jan 2016 | Pune • Responsible for design and development of the CVT based transmission system of the All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV) which represented the college at SAE BAJA 2016, an international event. • Optimized and manufactured a two stage constant reduction gear box with a cage-less differential. Thus, reduced the weight by 10% and made gearbox far more compact. • Reduced acceleration times at the event by 16% compared to earlier timings. • Chosen among top 10 design teams at the event ## Education ### Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering Columbia University ### Bachelor of Engineering - BE in Mechanical Engineering Savitribai Phule Pune University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/abhijeet-mishra-columbia --- Source: https://flows.cv/abhijeetmishra JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/abhijeetmishra/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-31
