Experience
2023 — Now
I joined Fitbod as their first full-time Design hire in 2023.
I’ve up-levelled the craft of the product, significantly improved conversion (+23% YoY), subscriber growth (+26%YoY), gross revenue (+37% YoY), and every other business metric important to us, and brought on a second Designer.
I’m responsible for end-to-end design on our Core product, while setting design direction and standards across the Activation and Growth squads.
* Core - Developing new features and initiatives to retain and engage current subscribers, while keeping our product best-in-class with incremental updates
* Activation - Helping potential subscribers discover that "a-ha!" moment when trying out Fitbod, through a variety of experiments during onboarding, paywall iterations, and communicating core value
* Growth - Creating a mix of in-app features around virality and direct referrals, plus brand new surfaces and experiences to hook into SEO
Across squads, I partner with XFN peers on planning and strategy. Outside of the squads, I work closely with Brand and Marketing on go-to-market.
In the past 9 months, I've been submitting increasingly complex PRs to our Android, iOS, and Web production apps, and prototyping in code thanks to Cursor — 🔗 https://github.com/c0up

* Led the design on YouTube's 2nd biggest vertical, Gaming. Creating experiences for viewers, creators, and gaming publishers across interactivity, social distribution, monetisation, and search & discovery.
* Launched Clips to all 2B of YouTube’s users. A workflow and feature designed and released first for Gaming users, it’s seen bigger adoption in the Music and Lifestyle verticals. A significant % of Clips viewers go on to watch the underlying video, and they provide the best crowdsourced highlights to creators in an increasingly short-form content world
* Launched the pilot for YouTube’s first foray into shopping for digital items, providing another source of monetisation for Gaming creators, and needing cross-functional coordination with 5 YouTube teams, other orgs like Google Play, and game publishers
* Co-authored (with PM, Eng skip leads) and presented YouTube Gaming’s strategy deck to CEO and VPs
* Designed and narrated a future vision video for a new team within Gaming that was pitched at annual planning and successfully funded with headcount and leadership backing
* Scoped and managed the work of another Designer. Mentored and helped set the UX culture of the adjacent team as it grew.

* Led the design of a smartphone app to help lab technicians analyse antibiotic resistance in low-resource regions and countries, providing recommendations to clinicians on what best to prescribe patients
* Led the design of a web-based configuration console to help scale and customise the app to different microbiology labs and prescription protocols.
* Led the design of a marketing website to communicate what Antibiogo is to the world
* The work we did led to WHO (World Health Organisation) commiting to use Antibiogo as the gold standard for AST interpretation in low-resource settings. Antibiogo was recently certified as a medical device, and is now being implemented and used to treat patients.
