# Abhilash K. > Head of Design & Principal Product Designer at Fitbod Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/abhilashk 🔗 http://c0up.com/work I currently head up all things Design at Fitbod, the AI-powered, top-ranked strength training app in the App Store. It's a role where I'm constantly, and comfortably moving between pixels, bits, and strategy; a Super IC, if you will. Previously, at Google, I owned and course-corrected design direction across complex, wildly different problem spaces, from early stage to well-established products. I excel in cross-functional teams of varying sizes. I mentor, scope, and manage the work of Designers. I’ve designed for multiple form factors, platforms, and hardware types, across Gaming, Healthcare, Fitness, and Design Systems. ## Work Experience ### Head of Design & Principal Product Designer @ Fitbod Jan 2023 – Present I joined Fitbod as their first full-time Design hire in 2023. I’ve up-levelled the craft of the product, significantly improved conversion (+23% YoY), subscriber growth (+26%YoY), gross revenue (+37% YoY), and every other business metric important to us, and brought on a second Designer. I’m responsible for end-to-end design on our Core product, while setting design direction and standards across the Activation and Growth squads. * Core - Developing new features and initiatives to retain and engage current subscribers, while keeping our product best-in-class with incremental updates * Activation - Helping potential subscribers discover that "a-ha!" moment when trying out Fitbod, through a variety of experiments during onboarding, paywall iterations, and communicating core value * Growth - Creating a mix of in-app features around virality and direct referrals, plus brand new surfaces and experiences to hook into SEO Across squads, I partner with XFN peers on planning and strategy. Outside of the squads, I work closely with Brand and Marketing on go-to-market. In the past 9 months, I've been submitting increasingly complex PRs to our Android, iOS, and Web production apps, and prototyping in code thanks to Cursor — 🔗 https://github.com/c0up 💼 Happy to share work I've done upon request 💼 ### Product Design Lead - YouTube Gaming @ Google Jan 2020 – Jan 2023 | San Francisco Bay Area * Led the design on YouTube's 2nd biggest vertical, Gaming.
