Built Spring based REST APIs which are being consumed by IT departments across USC. ∙ Built Apache Airflow (Python) based ETL jobs and data pipelines to ingest data into the USC Graduate School data warehouse. Improved existing pipelines to reduce cumulative pipeline run duration from 9 hours/day to 3 hours/day (~67% decrease). ∙ Built tools to orchestrate new Airflow DAGs with ease using cookiecutter (https://github.com/cookiecutter/cookiecutter). Allowed developers to create, build and deploy new Airflow DAGs in minutes without having to worry about underlying infrastructure. ∙ Formulated analytical models using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services and created PowerBI reports which aided administrators in decision and policy making process, directly benefiting the USC student and faculty community. ### Site Reliability Engineer Intern @ LinkedIn Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 ∙ Designed, developed and shipped a full-stack web application in 12 weeks. Used Python, Flask, MySQL, Bootstrap and jQuery among other technologies. Integrated realtime monitoring, alerts and click metric collection to understand user behavior and improve user experience. ∙ The self-service tool helps teams find resources related to LinkedIn's data ingestion ecosystem and request assistance from the Data Ingestion SRE (DISRE) team. It is extensively being used by teams across LinkedIn. ∙ Implemented a recommendation system to suggest resources similar to the user's question/issue to help them self-resolve most issues. ∙ The tool helped reduce the creation of new Jira issues by 40% and saved the DISRE team hundreds of hours each week otherwise needed to triage those issues. Led to within-SLA closure of around 70% of the tickets each week (15% improvement). ### Cloud Support Associate II @ Amazon Web Services Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Bengaluru Area, India ∙ Provided architectural guidance, software development assistance and proactive advice on best practices to key AWS customers for effectively implementing their cloud requirements using AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, Step Functions, etc. • Applied advanced troubleshooting techniques to help reproduce and resolve complex customer issues. ∙ Worked directly with AWS Software Development Engineers and Solutions Architects to identify limitations of existing services and made recommendations for new features and offerings. ∙ Evangelized the 'AWS Well-Architected Framework' and enabled AWS customers to build secure, scalable, fault-tolerant, high performing and cost effective cloud infrastructure/solutions on AWS, saving them hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars. ### Cloud Support Intern @ Amazon Web Services Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Bengaluru Area, India Spearheaded the development of a state-of-the-art CTF-like internal tool that enables Amazonians to gain hands-on knowledge/expertise in AWS services; used Java, ReactJS, AWS EC2, CloudFormation, S3, SNS and DynamoDB. ### Teaching Assistant & Facilitator, Applied CS With Android @ Google Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Bengaluru Area, India ∙ Facilitated the Google Applied CS with Android course which was taken by 100+ Junior/Senior undergraduate students at M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology. ∙ Taught data structures and algorithms through apps and games, helping students bridge the gap between theory and practice. ∙ Developed an online code submission portal, code labs, a plagiarism check tool and auto-grading systems to evaluate the performance of students and mentored them based on results. ### Research Intern, DreamLAB @ Indian Institute of Science Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Bangalore ∙ Worked on design and implementation of an IoT resource directory and data flow mechanisms for the wireless IoT sensor network at IISc using Java, MQTT, CoAP and related protocols. ∙ Built an Android application to estimate drinking water quality using crowd sourced images of chemical water quality strips dipped in water; lead to timely maintenance and replacement of hundreds of water filters which would otherwise pose a health hazard. ∙ Conducted hands-on tutorial sessions regarding integration of IoT protocols, message queues and brokers at the Microsoft Research (MSR) India Summer School 2016, IISc. ### Mobile Application Developer Intern @ Student Microsoft Developer Community, M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Bangalore ## Education ### Master of Science - MS in Computer Science University of Southern California ### Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Information Science and Engineering Ramaiah Institute Of Technology ### High School in Pre-Engineering DeekshaKMWA Pre-University College ### High School in Science Carmel High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/abhilash1in --- Source: https://flows.cv/abhilashkishore JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/abhilashkishore/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-12
