This project involved understanding the existing code base in C++ and implementing changes to extend the functionality of the current program to include apoptosis classification of cells. I also worked on running cell staining experiments to choose an optimal apoptosis stain as well as increase workplace efficiency by creating a workflow that would save 55 mins of associate time each time they ran an apoptosis analysis experiment. ### DSIP Intern @ Danaher Corporation Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 As a DSIP Intern, I was exposed to various Danaher Business System (DBS) tools and had the opportunity to use them in an immersive week-long "kaizen" experience. During this kaizen, I helped lead the resizing and implementing of the Kanban bin system in place at the Kavo Kerr factory in Charlotte, NC as well as clearing out space and moving bins to help lean out the part manufacturing process. I also had to present my progress for my summer project at Beckman Coulter at a mid-summer and final report out to Danaher leaders and executives. ### Sequencing Analysis and Biodevelopment Intern @ Cepheid Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Sunnyvale, CA I was one of two interns in the Sequencing department at Cepheid, and I was responsible for making a web platform that could allow any researcher or scientist at Cepheid to perform data and bioinformatics analyses on sequencing data, even if they knew nothing of how to use the various programs used. This web platform could perform variant calling, BLAST, and other types of analyses locally to efficiently and quickly generate results from sequencing runs. I used NodeJS and bash-scripts to create the web backend which would report real-time updates during the analysis. ### Internal Vice President @ Mobile Developers of Berkeley Jan 2016 – Jan 2018 | Berkeley, CA I am responsible for logistics of recruiting for the first few weeks of the semester, and then ensuring that members are on task for the rest of the semester so that they complete the requirements of membership and complete their respective projects. ### Android Developer @ Mobile Developers of Berkeley Jan 2015 – Jan 2017 | Berkeley, California As an Android Developer, each semester I work with a team of 3-4 other people to plan, design and publish a functional and useful Android application by the end of the semester. ### Senior Developer @ Mobile Developers of Berkeley Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Berkeley, CA I was an assistant to the Android Instructor during the training program of this semester. I would hold my own office hours, where I would help members with their project and apps, and answer any questions that they might have had. Towards the end of the semester, I mentored a team and provided them guidance to building and completing their own Android app from scratch. ### Undergraduate Research Assistant @ Shadden Lab Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Berkeley, California I am helping streamline the process in the lab from which medical image data is converted into 3D models. By using and testing the lab's open source modelling software (SimVascular), I construct models based on DICOM Image data from patients for use of simulations to model and predict embolus transport from the aorta to the brain, which is a common factor in causing strokes. ### Corporate Committee Chairperson @ Biomedical Engineering Society Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 I was in charge of leading a committee of 23 people, in order to help each one of them with professional development as well as learning various skills such as networking and event planning. I also helped coordinate multiple events which included, but not limited to, career panels, consulting workshops, networking dinners, and info-sessions, all of which were designed to expose interested students in the various fields of bio-engineering. ### Android Development Intern @ MagniWare Ltd Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Toronto, Ontario, Canada I was helping develop an Android Application called Rthm that would be a Life Extension A.I. Combining the user's genetics (using a Saliva test), and various scientific publications, the app would provide an easy, clean and fresh user interface to users to access various health, fitness and sleep tips to improve their life. I worked on the app's UI/UX, as well as several components of the back-end, including working with Realm, and the company's own REST API. ## Education ### Bachelor’s Degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering University of California, Berkeley ### High School John A.
