*** Cellular Networks/ RF planning :
• Developed a network planning and optimization software tool for managing GSM/UMTS cellular networks with extensive QoS analysis for improving radio network quality and OPEX efficiency.
• Investigated the cause of KPI failures in a dense cellular network and designed algorithms to perform root cause analysis of RF issues to meet target KPIs.
• Developed a software tool for automated OSS based network diagnostics, fault tracing, traffic analysis and extensive QoS analysis by targeting KPIs. Worked with a team of RAN engineers to design, develop and deploy the tool in the network and analyze system quality, functionality, and performance. Pilot testing involved deploying the tool to multiple cities.
**** Physical (PHY) layer waveform design :
• Designed a physical layer waveform for a CDMA based robust hybrid spread spectrum (DS-FH) based data link. Analyzed trade-off in performance versus complexity and feasibility for implementing adaptive equalization, convolutional codes and signal detection for MIMO systems.
*** Sensor Netwoks :
• Investigated the design of a wireless link to support transmission of images and small sized video using TELOS B motes on TINY OS platform.
• Implemented a multi-hop relay network to transmit sensor information from a source node to a destination sink.
