# Abhinav P. > Software Engineer @ Neuralink | UC Berkeley Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/abhinavp I am deeply fascinated by the intersection of the human mind and technology. I work as a Software Engineer at Neuralink to create a generalized brain interface to restore autonomy to those with unmet medical needs today and unlock human potential tomorrow. If you work in the field of neurotechnology or just want to talk about the bizarreness of the human mind, don't be shy to reach out! ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Neuralink Jan 2023 – Present Building the manufacturing machine behind brain machines. ### Software Engineer II @ Rune Labs Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 Rune Labs is a brain data platform which brings precision medicine to neuroscience by making brain data useful at scale. My service monitors billions of messages per day and calculates real time metrics. • Mitigated data loss rate and inconsistency issues 200 fold, from 0.01% to 0.00005%. • Implemented Apache Kafka producer callbacks and consumer interceptors to produce trace messages across 4 different microservices. • Built an Apache Flink service as a monitoring tool to consume trace messages and compute analytics on the data stream. Created custom windowing and trigger functions to optimize stateful computations. • Persisted metrics in Redis and a MySql DB. Visualized metrics in Apache Superset in real time (within 500ms) • Worked extensively with AWS technologies throughout the development process. Technologies: Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis Analytics, AWS Kinesis Firehose, AWS MSK, AWS Cloudwatch, AWS Athena, AWS S3, Jenkins, Splunk, Apache Superset, Redis, Protobuf/Avro/JSON Encoding ### Project Clarify Residency Program - Project Manager @ University of California, San Francisco Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 Project Clarify is an open source platform with neurofeedback games which can improve a user's mental state. • Structured a collaboration with the Director of ML Research at Neuroscape in UCSF and lead a group of 20 UC Berkeley students engage in the project. • Worked on a cortical self-supervised learning model using the EEG modality. • Developed the systems infrastructure to efficiently test and serve code. Core Stack: JupyterLab on Kubeflow, Bazel, Kubernetes, Fyre, Trax, Gin Languages: Python, Golang, JavaScript ### Software Engineering Intern @ Motocho Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Milpitas, California Motocho is a cryptocurrency trading platform which routes trades to various exchanges to match the most optimal buyers and sellers. I played an integral role in the pre-launch phase of the startup. • Developed the core trading algorithm to efficiently route client orders to various exchanges. The routing was made possible via reading from a single order-book which collected live buyer and seller data from all supported exchanges. • Implemented REST API calls to 11 Cryptocurrency exchanges and standardized all I/O. • Setup Apache Kafka infrastructure for fault tolerance between parallel system processes. • Constructed PostgreSQL DB to log the status of trades between processes for further fault tolerance. • Used a Redis Cache for local storing of price and balance data. • Implemented Docker and Jenkins for server deployment. • Programmed in Golang to support concurrency and PostgreSQL for DB queries. ### Software Engineering & Data Science Intern @ Instabloomer Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area • Built regression models to classify Instagram user profiles. • Used InstaPy and Selenium for web browser automation to effectively scrape users that match certain feature specifications. • Developed website backend infrastructure using PHP and Google's Firebase • Implemented payment system using Stripe in NodeJS ### Electronic Health Record Developer @ ABCs for Global Health Jan 2016 – Jan 2018 | Philippines • Used OpenMRS to create the portal in which doctors could log patient data. • Developed a LAN architecture so multiple devices could log data onto one centralized computer. Assisted Dr. Julieta Gabiola, founder of ABC's for Global Health, in the implementation of an EHR in a medical mobile clinic in the Philippines. The medical mobile clinic was set to curb medical illnesses currently in the Philippines. An Electronic Health Record brought longevity to the project by giving medical professionals the ability to keep a record of patients’ medical data, so that doctors can use detailed medical histories to better direct the medication they prescribe. Currently the clinic travels to a cluster of twenty barangays (villages) each month. ## Education ### Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cognitive Science University of California, Berkeley ### High School Cupertino High School ### High School Concurrent Enrollment Program De Anza College ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/apottabathula --- Source: https://flows.cv/abhinavp JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/abhinavp/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-05
