As part of the Surveillance Strats team, developed a distributed search engine for Goldman Sachs proprietary data, that runs over an Apache Hadoop YARN cluster -
◦ Developed the batch pipeline to index more than two billion documents using Apache Hadoop MapReduce framework and store it into Apache HBase NoSQL database.
◦ Developed the real-time document indexing pipeline for the retrieval of real-time data using Apache Flink stream processing framework.
◦ Designed the posting list data structure to store indexed data and document features in Google Protocol Buffers serialization format.
◦ Developed long-running distributed applications using Apache Twill framework. Using the framework built several micro-services that form the internal components of the search engine.
◦ Developed high-performance client and server apps using a Java Non-Blocking I/O client-server framework called Netty to improve the scalability of the search engine and minimize inter-server network latency.
