I thrive in entrepreneurial environments and am happiest in roles where I can straddle the line between hands-on creation and big-picture strategy. ## Work Experience ### Principal Product Designer @ City and County of San Francisco - Department of Technology Jan 2017 – Present | San Francisco, CA Lead online & offline design efforts for some of the larger citywide IT projects. ### Head of Product & Design @ FaveRave Jan 2015 – Jan 2017 | San Francisco Bay Area FaveRave was an enterprise-level, employee engagement and insights platform built to address the needs of today’s workforce. FaveRave’s mobile-optimized platform made it easy for managers to engage employees, capturing authentic insights that helped inform decisions about everything from talent management and employee programs to product planning and creative direction while fostering a sense of community within the company. I oversaw all aspects of product strategy and design ideation, as well as management of the development team. In addition to coming up with the name FaveRave, I was responsible for all product initiatives, including branding, ux and responsive design strategy. ### Director of Product & Design @ SkinnyScoop Jan 2013 – Jan 2015 | San Francisco Bay Area SkinnyScoop was a social curation and discovery platform that helped people cut through the clutter and get the inside scoop on all the latest apps, books, recipes, parenting products and so much more. SkinnyScoop took the offline conversations between people and brought them online, making them social, collaborative, and most importantly, actionable. I was responsible for initiating, implementing and managing a complete overhaul of site ux and design. I collaborated with Founder on refining product strategy and managed all aspects of product development. ### Design Director @ Socialflavor Jan 2011 – Jan 2013 | San Mateo, CA Socialflavor was a social sharing & discovery platform that enabled people to connect with others around shared interests. I came up with the name "Socialflavor" and collaborated with my Co-Founder in articulating the concept and vision, defining product strategy and the hiring and building out the team. I established the visual direction and UX for the entire site and managed the frontend development team. I utilized a responsive approach to design that optimized UX across platforms. ### Creative Director @ FixYa Jan 2009 – Jan 2011 | San Mateo, CA FixYa is a community-driven product-related support and Q&A site. It is a platform to ask questions, solve problems & share product experience with others. I was responsible for defining the design strategy and creative vision. I managed the design team and oversaw the front-end development on all projects. I worked directly with the CEO, and Sr. Management in defining business strategy. ### Creative Director @ Roost Jan 2006 – Jan 2009 | San Francisco, CA Roost was a blazing-fast, user-friendly meta search engine designed to make searching for homes fun and easy. I designed the site UX, UI and all branding, including letterhead, business cards, one-pagers and all PowerPoint presentations. I worked directly with the CEO and the Senior Team to define the strategy and prioritize the product roadmap. ### Web Designer Level 3 @ World Savings Bank Jan 2004 – Jan 2006 World Savings was a Fortune 500 company rated as one of "America's Most Admired" Financial Services Companies by Fortune Magazine. A division of Golden West Financial, World Savings was a premier consumer financial services company, with nearly nine decades of experience and over $120 billion in assets. I was part of the User Experience Group in the design and development of all online initiatives. I developed and pitched the design direction for HLE.com, a new lead generation business within World Savings that focused on home loans. ### Sr. Web/UX Designer @ Point Click Direct Jan 2000 – Jan 2004 In my role as Sr. Web/UX Designer, I was responsible for developing and implementing the overall creative strategy for PointClick Direct, CISI Direct and associated programs. As is the case with many startups, there were many hats for me to wear, and I wore them well... I established complete corporate identity programs including logo, corporate colors, web site, business cards, letterhead, envelopes and all marketing and collateral materials such as sales presentations, brochures and multilevel advertising campaigns. I designed creative and developed content for multilevel advertising campaigns, including pop-ups, pop-unders, web banners, up-sell pages, emails and magazine ads. I developed a rules table along with a comprehensive ID-based naming convention, drawing from 12 unique variables that tracked creative campaigns for multiple accounts. I hand-coded all web sites using HTML/XHTML and CSS, tested for browser-compatibility and optimized all code and graphics to minimize download time. ### Web Designer @ Pegasystems Jan 1997 – Jan 2000 Job Duties: I oversaw the design and development of all creative for the company. Managed creative team, including multimedia designer, graphic designer, web developer, and temporary employees. Conducted performance evaluations and potential employee interviews. Key Initiatives: Design Direction for Corporate Website I Presented a comprehensive analysis of existing web site along with a proposal for a complete redesign. Oversaw all aspects of project development. Facilitated content development within multiple departments. Directed and participated in graphics production, and managed Cold Fusion development. Pegasystems Corporate Identity Program I Initiated a total overhaul of Pegasystems' corporate identity program. Developed report on Identity Awareness and Brand Recognition. Invited to Present my findings at an Off-site Pegasystems’ Round Table meeting to the Board of Directors and the entire Senior Management Team which resulted in identity overhaul and promotion.
