I joined Fleetio as a remote team member and contributed to its remarkable growth and product development achievements. My duties and accomplishments include:
Drawing upon accumulated product knowledge and customer insights to make informed decisions that have a tangible impact on the business.
Aligning design work to the broader Fleetio product vision and assisting in defining metrics and outcomes, notably during onboarding and trial experience projects.
Leading the direction of foundational product and engineering initiatives, including Saved Views, Shared Documents, and Enhanced Data Imports.
Analyzing datasets and extracting insights to enhance solutions for “smart” features, such as Service Reminder Forecasting and Sensor Data Snapshots.
Working closely with engineers to guarantee the delivery of the finest user experience, leveraging my growing proficiency in front-end web development.
Pushing my limits to craft production-quality React components and innovatively devise code solutions, proudly exemplified in the Vehicle Sensor Gauges project.
Developing design system components and fostering their adoption by designers, while guiding engineers to maintain consistency throughout the Fleetio product.

Through recognition of my accomplishments and contributions to the success of the company, I was promoted to Lead Product Designer in 2015. My activities now include:
Empathizing with and gathering feedback from thousands of Volusion users to gain insights into their needs in order to design effective solutions.
Conducting user tests to validate usefulness and usability of early stage designs and presenting findings to product stakeholders for review and feedback.
Spearheading the effort to develop a comprehensive design system comprised of component libraries and guidelines for use by both designers and developers
Designing the UX and UI of the entire V2 product from the ground up, including dozens of features and experiences encompassing everything from onboarding and first-time use to order management and website building tools.
Mentoring and advising junior product designers through providing constructive feedback and leading by example.
Taking the initiative to lead a cross-disciplinary team of designers and stakeholders through a full redesign of Volusion’s decade-old visual brand identity.
2013 — 2015

My design approach progressed in a way that led me to join the Volusion product team as a UI Designer in 2013. Over my time in that position, my activities included:
Collaborating with UX designers to transform wireframes into high-fidelity prototypes and then presenting the design solutions to executive leadership.
Creating a detailed style guide and pattern library used by developers and product managers of Volusion’s enterprise software platform, Mozu.
Leading the UX/UI design of Volusion's first iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Android apps using mobile design best practices and interface guidelines.
Developing new product design concepts used as catalysts for evolution from our legacy product to a modern, responsive platform with a fresh visual style.
2010 — 2013

In 2010 I joined Volusion, a full-service ecommerce software platform. As a web designer in the creative services department, my activities included:
Communicating with clients to understand their website vision and expectations.
Designing comprehensive websites for Volusion merchants' online stores, including mobile designs, UI/UX design, and complete logo brand kits.
Coding entire websites in HTML/CSS for use with Volusion's page template system.
Collaborating with team leads and department heads to design and develop internal productivity tools and Volusion merchant onboarding resources.
