# Adam Mirza > Staff Engineer at MatrixSpace Location: Somerville, Massachusetts, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/adammirza I am currently pursuing a combined degree in Mechanical Engineering and Physics as a part of Northeastern University's class of 2021. I completed my first co-op at Fikst Product Development. My second Co-op at MatrixSpace, where I am currently working part-time. This September I will begin pursuing my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern. I hope to work in advanced sensing and controls after completing my studies. When I'm not busy with classes, I can generally be found in the AeroNU lab working on a host of projects with tasks ranging from embedded software, to flight simulations, to mechanical design and manufacturing. I often run head first into the most complex technical challenges the club faces, especially those relating to controls and data analysis. I have also lead various projects and sub-teams over  the course of my most recent two years in the club. In addition to my technical work, I play Tenor Saxophone in the Northeastern University Pep Band, and as a former scout I am always looking for an opportunity to go hiking or camping. I am most relaxed when I get the chance to read while sitting in the woods. I'll read just about anything from fantasy to non-fiction, but I have a soft spot for dystopias and old textbooks. ## Work Experience ### Staff Engineer @ MatrixSpace Jan 2023 – Present | Burlington, Massachusetts, United States ### Senior Engineer - Mechanical & Robotics @ MatrixSpace Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | Burlington, Massachusetts, United States ### Mechanical Engineer @ MatrixSpace Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | Burlington, Massachusetts, United States ### Mechanical Engineering Co-Op @ Fikst Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater Boston Area Designed fixture to make micron scale measurements of injection molded parts using LVDT sensors in SolidWorks Assembled fixture and measured sub-micron repeatability before shipping to client Automated fixture measurement procedure and feature size calculations by writing Python software with UI Researched, developed, and implemented measurement method for feature size on IM parts with unknown curvature Designed HDPE consumable insert for die cutting jig to extend life of aluminum portion of jig Presented design of HDPE insert to client, then CNC milled and shipped order of 60+ inserts Manufactured, assembled, and collaborated in design of the annual holiday puzzle, which was sent to clients Experimentally determined maximum attainable draft angle and depth for cold formed foil to evaluate the manufacturability of packaging for a heat-sealed bottle industrial design received from client ### Mechanical Engineering Intern @ RISE Engineering Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | Providence, Rhode Island Area Developed and maintained Report Generating Tool, which saved two engineers ~100 hours per quarter Designed tool to automate cost and savings calculations for 30+ Energy Conservation Measures and export 8-15 page Energy Conservation Report and supporting documents for Cape Light Compact (CLC) custom audit projects Created Microsoft Excel and Word program with 50+ custom VBA macros and functions Produced Userforms to automate Post Inspection and Custom Review memos saving engineers 1-2 hours per project Collaborated with senior engineers to produce custom audit reports and shadowed on multiple site visits ## Education ### Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering & Physics in Mechanical Engineering Northeastern University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/adam-mirza - Portfolio: https://adammirzaportfolio.com --- Source: https://flows.cv/adammirza JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/adammirza/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-31
