Developed patented insilico annotation pipelines of all catalog probe arrays using a compute cluster, backed by an SQL job queue. Created a web based job management system for issuing the annotation processes, reviewing their status and collecting performance statistics for QA.
Built multiple search, analysis, and download tools for these annotation results via corporate web portal, such as: A query interface for a SQL back end allowing up to10,000 term searches against denormalized MySQL and Sphinx indexes in real time.
A novel sequence alignment tool matching customer supplied gene sequences of interest to 20M+ 25mer catalog probes in real time. A patented SVG plug-in based annotation browser enabling customers to look for statistically significant results within the context of the Gene Ontology Consortium data hierarchy.
Built a secure, web based microarray design application (~10^6 probes) enabling customers to submit large, complex queries to affymetrix.com for batch processing on our servers. Results are then returned to the customer for review on the web, where they can initiate a design order.
