I joined Rocksalt as their first engineer because I loved the team and the mission: helping real experts make authentic connections with their audience wherever they are. At Rocksalt, we’re building an AI-powered marketing coach that helps founders, CEOs, and subject matter experts show up online in the right places — LinkedIn, Slack, and more — and build credibility through genuine knowledge sharing.

Jan 2017 – Jan 2022 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States
- Translated and redesigned critical components of legacy monolithic queue-based Rails application to a highly distributed Scala actor-based service-oriented architecture for comparing and updating millions of remote and local resources per day across thousands of tenants
- Created a resumable, asynchronous onboarding flow for our fastest growing product. Unified and generalized highly specialized business logic across multiple regions and user types to create a single streamlined user experience, resulting in a notable increase in conversions
- Designed, implemented, and documented a suite of extensible provisioning, monitoring, and billing APIs for multiple high-volume consumers, unifying multiple disparate data sources and points of truth through a custom API Gateway utilizing highly complex/optimized PostgreSQL & Elasticsearch queries
- Spearheaded and implemented a new support console in PHP Symfony to address security concerns and process inefficiencies of legacy system. Collaborated directly with support and customer success stakeholders to efficiently address most common manual workflows.
- Created and seamlessly integrated Kibana and Grafana dashboards for monitoring KPIs and SLA breaches
- Acted as an ad-hoc product manager for a critical component of our fastest growing product for several months when in between product hires, and helped train next hire. Obtained Scrum Master Certification
- Developed OpenWRT-based firmware and web architecture for cloud managed network appliance with LTE failover

- Developed open source curriculum, organized 200+ students and dozens of projects each semester, designed and hosted workshops, talks and events with FAANG companies. Directly mentored students on their own projects & career development
- Spearheaded diversity & inclusion initiatives that doubled the size of the group and increased the number of women participants by an order of magnitude in just two years
- Created and demonstrated modern software engineering curriculum, including web architecture, DevOps practices, project management, automated testing, software licensing, Open Source best practices, etc.
- Contributed to the founding of the Mozilla Open Source Student Network (MOSSN). Assisted with developing curriculum for other universities to start their own FOSS organizations; Acted as an affiliate representative to the OSI
- Built and maintained critical organizational software for the university used by the vast majority of students and faculty for critical planning
