# Adeline Latruwe > Building the Future of Human-AI Collaboration | Context & Clarity | 1 project at a time Location: Pleasant Hill, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/adeline I've spent years building backend systems: compliance workflows, state management, concurrency patterns, APIs... The kind of work that has to be right and tight. I got into AI (especially memory) because I was tired of repeating myself, across chats, projects, and tools. Context gets lost constantly, and most AI systems treat that as a retrieval problem. I think it's a cognition problem. So I started building. I write about that work in my newsletter The Cognitive Stack. From building and experimenting, I kept running into the same design questions. There are plenty of resources on how to implement AI features, but surprisingly little on the design thinking that precedes implementation. So I wrote my own framework. The AI Systems Design Guide covers six building blocks of AI systems, from basic prompting through autonomous agents. At my current role, I'm the engineering representative on the AI steering committee. I build in the space between systems. The bridges most teams treat as glue code. I treat them as the product. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ LCvista Jan 2023 – Present Python, Django Compliance domain expert for the engineering team — own the backend systems where regulatory workflows meet product logic. Built and refined concurrency locking mechanisms for compliance workflows — replaced broad locks with targeted ones, resolving system-wide performance issues. Led a 4-person cross-functional team during a company hackathon, building an AI pilot that bridged the compliance state engine with the content catalog through a recommendation tool and AI chatbot with tool use. Engineering representative on the AI steering committee. Run daily standups for the engineering team. ### Software Engineer I @ LCvista Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 Python, Django, JavaScript, React, Postgres Built features and bug fixes across the full stack.
