# Ahmer Khan > Principal Engineer at Autodesk Location: Palo Alto, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/ahmer For as long as I can remember, I have loved technology and the software that drives it. When I was younger, my parents gave me a computer that opened a world of magic that I did not think was possible. From then on, I was hooked. It was always hard for me to describe the passion that I had for computing to anyone else, but for me it was amazing. From school I was recruited into a big company called Computer Associates where I was able to work with large customers and corporations and from there I gathered insight into how enterprise software led workflows around big organizations. I saw how we made them successful, how processes that we defined in our software worked for them which in the end made us successful. I moved into management and then into a software engineering role. My passion for helping customers drove me into writing code, the right way. I discovered Python along the way and immediately fell in love with the language. From attending meetups regularly in San Francisco and nearby in Palo Alto, I sought out to learn new features with each iteration of the language that I could use in my projects. I remain a Python aficionado. I work on backend systems, frontend API's and anywhere in between. I continue to seek on ways on increasing application performance, discovering new tools, applications, design principles and technologies that I can use in my profession and work that allow me to massage and mold it to all become part of one seamless machine.
