Some key highlights: -Partnered with Policy, Engineering & Product to develop a massively scalable solution to rapidly integrating COVID testing centers and vaccination locations into Search and Maps. This reduced time to market & played a crucial role in public health efforts, globally! It also enabled Google to achieve significant business goals across multiple divisions for which I was awarded the CEO Award at Google! -Lead a team of talented designers & product managers which is building the next generation user experience for shopping & discovery on Google surfaces like Search, Maps & Local. My work spans across end users & merchants on the platform and improves the quality of search journeys for billions of users across Web & Mobile surfaces. -I led the development of Google App store in its early days, developing design & technology framework to support Millions of Apps on the platform & simplified the user journey & app development framework for App developers across a myriad of Android surfaces. Over the last 7 years, billions of App releases have happened on that framework which I helped put in place. -My multi- cultural & multi-lingual background ( raised in China, worked for a few years in Japan & studied in US, fluent in 4 languages) has enabled me to successfully develop truly global solutions, while understanding local context & nuances at Google, where I routinely support product & design ideation across business units My guiding principle is: ' Fall in love with the problems, not the solutions.' Recognition: This work was honored with the first-ever Google Tech Impact Award (granted by Sundar Pichai), recognizing my product's significant societal contribution. -Transforming Local Search UX: Architected and crafted the definitive user journeys for all Local Search verticals (Dining, Shopping, Services, Hotels, etc.), a foundational effort that streamlined the user experience across the entire Google Geo ecosystem. Delivered significant features including the My Account launch and monetary gifting functionalities. -Focused on the "Next Billion Users" in emerging markets like India, designing a lighter, faster, and more reliable Play experience for poor network connections.
