I started coding since I was 14 years old, and I never had regrets about choosing Computer Science as my field of study. I've been lucky to be surrounded by the smartest students from different parts of Kazakhstan at Nazarbayev University where I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I had a great honor to be a commencement speaker at the graduation ceremony on behalf of my school due to high academic achievements and achievements as a basketball player of university’s intercollegiate team.

Later, I went to the graduate school in United States to learn more about my field in one of the top research universities. That led me to work as a research assistant in the Microsoft Jim Gray Systems lab, where I worked on the problems at the intersection of databases and deep learning. In my free time I like to do windsurfing, surfing, skiing, dancing tango, enjoying concerts and music festivals.

- Prepared 3 programming projects in Java (using JLex, Java CUP) that focus on building different parts of a compiler for the language subset of C, 5 written homework assignments related to general compiler topics
- Wrote shell scripts for automated grading of projects
- Provided help throughout the semester to students with solving their assignments, held weekly office hours, answered questions via Piazza
