I am the technical lead for video and music matching infra for Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger for copyright, integrity, and recommendations.
We are constantly improving our deep learned algorithms and distributed systems. We want to deliver high performance (precision, recall, match localization), with high scale (100’s of billions of videos, 100’s of thousands of concurrent live streams), compute efficiency (100’s thousands of machines), low latency (seconds to process videos), reliability (multiple 9’s), developer velocity (deprecation/consolidation/refactoring onto shared systems), and privacy protections (strict ACLs on all data access & storage).
