# AJ B. > i wear a lot of hats Profile: https://flows.cv/ajbanerjee ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Meta Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 Shipped core messaging, notifications, and AI system services for Meta Ray-Ban Display, flagship AR smart glasses with in-glass holographic UI and EMG armband input. Built low-latency embedded and Android infrastructure, including cross-platform settings sync and an on-device LLM assistant with dictation/TTS under tight memory constraints. ### Software Engineer @ Amazon Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 | Seattle, Washington, United States IMDb Advertising Technology team: Building, maintaining, and supporting rendering systems and features critical to advertising & monetization across IMDb’s web & mobile applications. Implemented a new ad feedback system using React, Typescript, and Next.js. Stored in a SQL database. Reports to stakeholders through an AWS Quicksight dashboard. Eliminated 100% of development effort in creating several creative types with automation. Originally took up to 2 weeks of dev time per project, now reduced to going directly to prod in just a matter of minutes using a self-service UI (Project Ditto) IMDb Creative Studio team, Design Technology: Built, released, and supported 200+ interactive campaign launches across 30+ countries/languages throughout the theatrical release cycle with major studios like Disney, Netflix, FOX, HBO, Viacom, and more. Targeted all platforms: desktop, mobile web, and apps (iOS & Android). Including a special rush request directly from Quinten Tarantino. Improved testing by spearheading our QA-FPY (first-pass yield) program. Implemented fixes in our core tooling to prevent future incidents and dramatically reduced bugs shipping to prod. Created a CLI tool for quickly scaffolding projects and prototypes with batteries-included integration with our existing internal frameworks and libraries. Increased awareness and adoption and led migration of newer technologies such as React, Typescript, and AWS in our teams. ### Design Technologist @ Amazon Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Seattle, Washington, United States I mapped out how our content's engagement metrics flowed through Amazon's systems. Using this information, I was able to outline the A/B testing process for my team. I documented each and every step of my research in a wiki page. After measuring current engagement to get a baseline, the goal was to design and implement a feature to improve it. For this, I made a 360° picture/video viewer that includes tracking how you move around in the VR movie world. Aside from the overarching user engagement project, I did client work for movies all throughout the summer where I edited assets in Photoshop and After Effects and made them come alive on our webpages with code. ### Software Engineer, SPOC Mission @ University of Georgia Small Satellite Research Laboratory Jan 2015 – Jan 2017 | Athens, Georgia, United States During my time at SSRL, the lab had two missions: MOCI, cubesat mission for the US Air Force Research Lab's University Nanosatellite Program (UNP) and SPOC, cubesat mission for NASA's Undergraduate Student Instrument Program (USIP). Both were collaborations with the UGA Center for Geospatial Research to collect first-party data on coastal ecosystems for climate research. I was part of the electronics team for the SPOC mission. I researched software systems for the on-board computer that will be used to coordinate the spacecraft (power, communication, sensors, payload, etc.) and process telemetry. This involved many trade studies to compare operating systems, framework vendors, and data protocols. I presented our progress periodically for official USIP reports. As requirements shifted, I coordinated with the mission operations team to ensure our software systems and mission requirements are aligned. In addition, I established the lab's initial software development standards and software development plan alongside senior leadership. In January 2018, MOCI won Phase B of funding from UNP, one of only 2 universities selected nationally to continue their satellite projects. This guaranteed a launch date between Q4 2019 and Q1 2020 (delayed to Q4 due to COVID-19) and nationally recognized SSRL as a leader in small spacecraft technologies. SPOC successfully launched from NASA Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia and docked on the International Space Station on October 2nd, 2020. ### UX Designer @ Hortonworks Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | San Francisco Bay Area Over the course of 12 weeks, I built a design system to create a consistent look and feel for the 26+ components in the Hortonworks Data Platform using Atomic Design and user-centered design thinking. Being such a large project, the goal was to create a foundation that can be iteratively improved upon in the future. Alongside senior product designers on my team, I interviewed with key stakeholders to inform user personas, and using their insights and feedback I created 50+ mockups to consider typography, color palettes, and UI patterns for our products. Afterwards, I developed the beginnings of a CSS framework to facilitate developer adoption for future products (Ambari, Falcon, Atlas, Knox) ### Software Developer @ Axon Tutors Jan 2014 – Jan 2016 | Athens, Georgia, United States Axon was an online marketplace for in-person tutoring on college campuses. It aggregated both the supply (tutors) and the demand (students) in one platform with tools for simplifying appointment scheduling, payments, and advertisement. I constructed several core features of the business from scratch, particularly scheduling, profiles, and payment systems (using Stripe API) to scale to several campuses. I designed mockups and user flows, and then implemented those designs using front end technologies. During my time, we tripled the number of available campuses. I contributed to that effort by making programs for R&D using RateMyProfessor, UGA, and Twitter. In early 2016, Axon was acquired by Tutor Matching Service. Technologies used: HTML5, Javascript, CSS3, MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node, Bootstrap, jQuery, Python, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Git, Github http://axontutors.com ## Education ### Bachelor’s Degree The University of Georgia ### Druid Hills High School International Baccalaureate ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/anuragbanerjee1 - GitHub: http://github.com/anuragbanerjee - Portfolio: http://ajbanerjee.com - Email: mailto:anuragb2010@gmail.com --- Source: https://flows.cv/ajbanerjee JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/ajbanerjee/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-18
