As a technology intern at Cvent I was embedded on the development team for their Appointments product. Program Assistant for Code Longhorn: a free, one-week residential camp program for high school students (boys and girls), especially students from historically underrepresented groups in the field of computer science.

As a Program Assistant I mentored and assisted the campers in learning some basic C++ and using those skills to program an Arduino powered robot. The campers were tasked with implementing basic line following and maze navigation algorithms. 

In addition to helping the students with their projects, I also created custom code that enables the robot to play melodies for future camps.

-Implemented a database using the Elasticsearch Java API and Kibana to generate useful queries. 
-Designed custom parsing maps to automate Elasticsearch data input using Jackson Parser API. 

-Implemented a page magnifier in JavaScript for Pearson TestNav by rendering HTML content to an image using HTML2Canvas.js and HTML Canvas. 
-Designed workarounds for complex issues such as Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) and cross platform browser compatibility.
