# Alex Ker > Eng + GTM @Baseten | Prev: Fellow @Bloomberg Beta, Bessemer, 8VC Location: New York, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/alexker I am most excited to build AI that solves meta-problems—problems that solve many other problems. I care about repurposing broadly intelligent systems for specific domains through “hot-swap startups”. The common theme is these companies that don’t just create stellar software—but also offer some product or service that is already a part of their customer’s existing behaviour. Previously:     •    Founded and chaired P-ai.org, the modern incubator for AI/ML ideas and projects, where I hired & managed 45+ technical projects (from early-stage startups to open-ended research) for over 500+ students cumulatively, and matched 35+ to internships across industry and academia like Meta, Amazon, and top PhD programs. P-ai is often folks’ foray into AI, and it’s fun to see the exciting work they go on to do!     •    Built Multimodal ML pipelines at Neurable (Brain-Computer Interface).     •    Contributed to back-end APIs and reinforcement learning infrastructure at LaunchDarkly (Feature Flags). I love writing, teaching, and building communities: I was an Industry Briefs Editor at Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI. I designed/taught a curriculum on creative writing at Uncommon Good, led office hours for MIT6.00.1x on EdX + the Security Learning Community at Greylock, and advised a few student startups. I am/was part of a few fellowships where I learned about early-stage investing, developing scalable software/products, and entrepreneurship:     •    Engineering: 8VC, Bessemer Venture Partners, Contrary Capital.     •    Investing: Bloomberg Beta, Unshackled Ventures. In my free time, I like to cook a variety of omelettes, keep up with my reading list on Goodreads, and write. Please feel free to reach out—always open to chatting about niche and interesting ideas!
