At Airbnb I worked on a hybrid Product / Platform team that was responsible for the post-booking experience of guests and hosts. During my brief tenure at Airbnb I worked on the following:
• Migrated several key product features (Wishlists, Reservation Details Page) out of our legacy monolith, decreasing request latencies by 250%+ and increasing product iteration speed
• Launched refund notifications for guests resulting in 60k/yr reduction in customer support contacts. Through consultation with designers, was able to ship weeks faster in wake of Covid-19 by using a modified design which leveraged existing code and systems
• Launched features spanning multiple teams allowing guests in strategic markets to comply with local Visa requirements
• Modernized and migrated 4 key services to shared on-call, increasing reliability and freeing up product engineering resources
• Managed team's on-call scheduling and was responsible for incident management and reporting to leadership

At Granular I worked on a variety of products and teams including Granular's Operational Resource Management and financial offerings, their integrations with the John Deere Operation Center, and building out Granular's next-generation service platform.
• Architected and implemented several of the core services for Granular's service platform including a distributed access control system enabling flexible product design and efficient fine grained (attribute-level) access control, drawing inspiration from the Apache Shiro project
• Successfully built and launched a data visualization product utilizing OS GIS tools to visualize profitability of parts of a farmer's various fields from within the John Deere Operations center (with millions of acres being processed yearly), as part of a key strategic partnership with John Deere
• Part of the initial team developing our financial product offering, which enabled customers to have a deeper understanding of their farm and operational profitability. Successful feature launches included user-customized pivot tables and reporting
• Core contributor / maintainer of many libraries and services backing Granular's platform efforts
• One of several engineers tasked with determining best practices and technologies for service platform buildout
