# Alex S. > Software engineer building distributed systems and event-driven architectures. Passionate about global-scale systems and fault-tolerant, highly available applications. Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/alexs1 I'm am a creative engineer with 4+ years in the aerospace and software engineering industries who is always on the lookout for exciting opportunities. Whether it's designing full stack applications that model satellite systems at SES or developing data analytics tools to trend information from embedded sensors, I am constantly driven to seek more knowledge and engineer elegant solutions to complex challenges. For the past few years of my career, I have been a part of the space operations team at SES, S.A. working on the ground-breaking O3b telecommunication satellite fleet. As the leader in high speed satellite-based internet solutions, there is never a dull moment when I arrive at the Global Operations Center and I am always striving to attain the level of excellence for which SES is known. Throughout my time as a real-time satellite engineer I have been exposed to numerous fields in the space and telecommunications industries ranging from RF and payload engineering to space mission and system architecture design. One thing that has remained constant in my engineering career is the use of software to accomplish extraordinary feats. This has pushed me to explore the latest technologies, programming languages, and frameworks in order to push the boundaries of what I can create as an engineer. There is little I find more rewarding than identifying a problem and building a solution for it and I am continually improving my software skills so I will be prepared for the next exhilarating challenge.
