DesignShop - new product from scratch

I was responsible for developing a consumer-facing part of this new B2C platform (the whole website, API layer on top of the e-comm framework, and a set of other features end-to-end, fullstack). I built an engineering team (from 0 to 10 people). Managed this team and fostered a strong collaborative spirit with other teams. Designed architecture (frontend, backend, gateway API, message queues). Established healthy, remote, and primarily async development processes. Helped to build the environment where engineering, design and product worked in a very close alignment and coordination. The whole platform was built in less than a year, with the help of e-commerce platform team from MaterialBank.

MaterialBank - evolving engineering in parallel with product development

After the successful development of DesignShop, my team was refocused to help, accelerate and evolve the engineering in the core business product. I helped to bootstrap the end-to-end testing framework and embedded the practice where the development team is involved in testing and writing tests. Guided the team in replacing a heavy and fragile Git flow with a trunk-based one, leveraging the best practices of GitOps. I led grooming and designing tech solutions for the new features in a tight collaboration with Product Owners. In parallel, I developed a plan to decouple the frontend from the tightly coupled monolith based on the e-comm framework to a separate app based on modern stack and having a separate CI/CD.

Cloud-based SAAS mobile-first solution for the automation of all hotel operating procedures and team collaboration. Used by the top branded worldwide managed hotels such as Four Seasons, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Mercure, Radisson and Novotel.
