Full-stack, all typescript: Node.js backend, React frontend. GraphQL (Apollo) API. Postgres DB.

Achievements:

* Cut search and main product page load times by 30-40%.

* Cleaned up a spaghetti-code legacy checkout page into something more maintainable. (Doesn’t sound like much, but the old page was completely incomprehensible, to the point where > 50% of changes to it introduced bugs. Which is quite bad when it’s the checkout page. One of my coworkers described the improvement as “one of the best changes that’s been made here”.)

Full-stack: working on Java backend, frontend (Typescript-based Google-proprietary web framework), and Android projects.

Achievements:

* Designed and built an extension to a subscriptions lifecycle service, to allow subscriptions to be sponsored by third-party business partners. This system has processed millions of sponsored subscriptions without incident.

* Lead the response to an attempted fraud attack against a promotional offer, preventing the loss of $170,000. Designed changes to the promotional system which have successfully stopped any subsequent attacks from succeeding.

Full-stack: worked on Java backend and React/Redux frontend features.

Achievements:

* Reduced page load times by 75-90% on the most common pages by optimizing SQL database queries.

* Improved IMAP message ingestion speed in an email product by 133x, reducing 90th percentile new-user onboarding time from many hours to a few minutes.
