Reduced latency in IEEE standardized wireless sensor networks by changing the packet scheduler in OpenWSN OS. 
Wrote a UDP packet sending app in Python and C that calculates latency accurately to 30.5 microseconds.
Created a test harness to run the network. We interfaced with the AnalogDiscovery2 and onboard GPIO pins through a Python script that automated packet sending and reception for millions of packets.

Published a paper in IEEE Xplore showing how latency can be drastically reduced by increasing the number of active TX/RX slots in a Time Slotted Channel Hopping network.
