Lead a small team focused on bringing container based platforms and services to Yahoo. As lead engineer and designer, created tooling to support one of the largest private Docker registries in the world, housing more than 100 TB of images and serving over 150 TB throughput to global data centers each day. Created a platform for all Yahoo developers to build new Docker images, allowing for continuous delivery from more than 35 thousand builds per day.
Focused on the security of Yahoo container infrastructure by designing and implementing micro services to sign and authorize Docker images. Pioneered the effort to move away from legacy Yahoo technology to a cloud based AWS and Kubernetes stack.
Contributed to open source projects including the official docker registry. Provided bug fixes to multiple projects, and one major module to the docker registry to support external caches of image layers. This caching module reduced infrastructure costs at Yahoo by 98% from a hundred thousand dollars per month to a few thousand.
Mentored many new members to the team, including eight interns over the past three years. Drove the culture of the team to empower new developers early in their careers.
