Developed an a posteriori error estimator based on the variational multiscale paradigm for 3D fluid flow and applied it in a multiphase setting to drive efficient in-memory mesh adaptation. Also developed algorithms to determine when mesh adaptation is needed and how to predictively adapt the mesh to reduce overhead costs.

Implemented this work in Proteus, an open-source multiphase flow toolkit managed by the Engineer Research and Development Center.

Developed a hybrid finite element method in wedge-element boundary-layer settings, using higher order B-splines and first-order Lagrange polynomials.

Teaching Assistant for Thermal Fluids Engineering 1 and Boundary Layers and

Heat Transfer - sophomore and senior-level courses, respectively with 70+

students. Helped students understand fundamental concepts of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
