I came to work at Intuit as PM, but found an opportunity to also work as a SWE. My team was responsible for the start experience that millions of TurboTax customer see every year when they file their taxes.

On the product side, I worked on the TurboTax start experience visual refresh, shared global navigation initiative, logic for importing data for returning joint-filing users, a redesigned bookmarks feature, and a Mint user survey involving tax software interest.

On the technical side, I helped implement the shared global navigation as an internally published React module, rewrote front end testing using Nightwatch in order to vastly improve deployment time, and implemented A/B testing for the global navigation using Intuit's Wasabi framework.

I had the opportunity to assist students taking Fundamentals of Computer Science 1, an innovate course in introducing new CS students to programming using Racket. My responsibilities included helping students understand systemic problem solving, write code with a functional programming approach, and learn client-server architecture without them having any prior programming experience. I also acted as an intermediary between students and professors for questions and concerns.

I had successfully grown under the Kumon program when I was younger and was fortunate enough to give back to newer students in the program. I empowered K-12 students to learn math and reading above their grade level, so that they could perform well in schools and standardized testing. During my shift, I was responsible for managing other tutors and the teaching space in order to create the most optimal learning environment for students.
