# Amy Kintner > Software Developer and Academic Location: Portland, Oregon, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/amykintner Amy Kintner is a software engineer, academic, writer, and outdoorswoman. After completing a PhD and teaching for years, she transitioned into work as a software developer. A Colorado native who grew up on a ranch, Amy’s wild upbringing undergirds her adult life: comfortable with all kinds of work, she isn't afraid to get a bit dirty or lost. As a lifelong learner, she constantly seeks out new learning experiences and environments. Starting in fall 2020, Amy began teaching a "first of its kind" course at the University of Portland that traces the history of music and technology from 1850 to present. The course unifies her academic background in musicology with her present work in computer science and software development, which enabled cross-listing the course between the school of engineering and the college of arts and sciences. The course is now part of a newly launched, university-wide core curriculum. ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ Skylight Jan 2024 – Present Skylight is a highly specialized digital consultancy that uses design and technology to help government agencies deliver better public services.
