As a researcher in the Center for Integrated Plasma Studies, I analyzed statistical properties of simulations of magnetic reconnection in astrophysical plasmas. I used Python to identify and classify magnetic structures to understand chaotic behavior during magnetic reconnection.
As a research assistant in the Hough Lab, I studied biophysical properties of disordered proteins. I grew, purified, and fluorescently labeled proteins for experiments, then measured fluorescence transfer (FRET) to understand binding of Nuclear Pore Complex proteins. In addition, I modeled diffusion of disordered protein through gel in MATLAB.
