Technical lead building mission critical software solutions for autonomous vehicle operations, tele-operations, mapping operations, and more.

### Software Engineer @ Hivemapper
Jan 2017 – Jan 2020 | Millbrae, CA
Lead engineer for the Hivemapper’s web-based 3D map interface, then the most visible aspect of Hivemapper's product.

I developed a myriad of sophisticated features like hierarchical level of detail (HLOD), DEM visualization, real-time 3D highlighting using shadow volumes, viewshed analysis, slope analysis, a graph-based state management system, and more.

The features I developed had a direct impact on the contracts that we secured with customers.

### Laboratory Assistant @ Beihang University – Robotics Institute
Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 | Beijing, China
Developed proof of concept virtual reality and haptic rendering software applications.

One project allowed the user to use hand gestures (tracked with a Leap Motion device) to control 3D virtual machinery.

The other project allowed the user to draw on a virtual 3D surface with haptic feedback using a Geomagic Touch haptic device.

Created an application to inspect IoT hardware events for the team's hardware devices. The full-stack web application was deployed on AWS and used React, Express.js, and MySQL.

Worked on the school's public facing website. Improved content presentation (React) and template generation (Node / Gulp.js) and developed backend APIs (Python / Django).
