At Facebook I have designed experiences for a broad range of consumer and business products, for Pages, Advertising, Search, Video Publisher Tools and Community Integrity.

I joined Facebook as the only freelancer who was hired as part of the Hot Studio acquisition, where I was already working to redesign Facebook's Page Insights product.

With the Search team, I earned US patent 9,507,876 for designing an efficient and flexible filtering system. You can still see these filters in the Facebook app today.

With the Video Publisher Tools team, I designed and launched new products, including rights manager, scheduled live videos and crossposted videos.

Today, with the Community Integrity team, I design mobile and desktop features to help people report bad experiences on Facebook and keep the Facebook community safe. I design the review tools that content moderators use to review these reports, and the systems that Facebook uses to monitor and improve how those reports are handled.

I simplified the presentation of complex product ranges, marketed to diverse customer groups on a single website. I designed mobile websites and apps for smartphones and tablets. Won a Gold Hermes Creative Award for Art.com’s artCircles iPad app.

I planned and executed qualitative and quantitative user research. Performed in-home, ethnographic interviews with photo, video and audio recording. Conducted structured telephone interviews with international users. Research findings presented during client workshops as summary posters, video reels and detailed reports.

I was responsible for delivery of user interface design and development projects in mobile, web and television sectors. I lead the creation and development of consumer products from early concepts to complete, market-ready packages. Worked closely with stakeholders to guide the design and feature-set through technical and creative challenges.

Successfully lead a mixed, design and technical team to deliver the company’s first million-dollar project for a major mobile device manufacturer, on time, to budget and with client satisfaction. Facilitated communication, documentation and problem-resolution across the team, the client and an offshore device manufacturer.

Jeppesen's Crew Solutions division provides crew planning, optimization and tracking software to the airline industry.

I managed Jeppesen's professional services interests in the New York office. I increased the quality and efficiency of Jeppesen's customer implementations and ongoing support, and standardized working practices to deliver that quality consistently.

I provided information architecture and usability expertise for this integrated marketing and advertising agency. Projects included marketing websites for clients such as Citrix and the newly merged HP/Compaq.

I designed and executed an innovative research and usability testing program for a new series of educational books. This highly collaborative engagement was the first recorded use of usability testing in the book publishing industry and had a major impact on the effectiveness of the final product.

Quidnunc was a small, privately-held customer software consultancy based in London, New York, San Francisco and Austin, Texas. I established and led the company's requirements analysis and usability practice.

I directed designers and engineers on multiple projects across all offices in London, New York, Austin and San Francisco. I developed quality assurance techniques and best practices to increase the company’s competitive edge. And I promoted the company through interviews with journalists and by writing articles for industry publications.
