Experience
Worked on modernizing identity management and role-based access for customers and internal contributors across the company's hosting products. Taken point on maintaining and extending legacy code in the Rails monolith, while shifting and replacing it with stand-alone services written in Ruby/ Hanami and Go along with client UI code written in React.
Contributed to initiatives to evangelize software testing and version control best practices internally in our engineering organization and mentored junior engineers on our team. Ran the sprint ceremonies as the team agile advocate.
2020 — 2021
Worked for WP Engine on the acquired Flywheel product's monolithic Rails application as part of the team modernizing the billing system. Transitioned to a shared services team providing support for other engineering teams building customer-facing features that touched the billing system, including stakeholders in support, finance, and hosting operations.
In addition to core responsibilities, also provided support for junior engineers. Worked as team coach by providing communication to outside stakeholders and support for those managing product and process. Continued to organize the Omaha Ruby Meetup until its hiatus in May 2021. Led a recruiting workshop on Ruby that once again resulted in a successful hiring pool.
Omaha
Contributed to the development of Flywheel’s monolithic Ruby on Rails application, handling critical orchestration layers to provision, host, and support thousands of customer Wordpress sites.
In addition to core responsibilities, wrote a recruiting crash-course on Ruby to take potential candidates from zero to reading a working program in a single session and delivered it internally and during the Ruby on Ales recruiting event, which lead to the hiring of Junior and Senior developers.
Helped popularize testing as documentation, provided support for junior developers, and helped onboard new hires to the code base. Ran and organized the Omaha Ruby Meetup, both in person and as a remote event during the pandemic.
2012 — 2016

Worked on existing and green field software projects to solve real-world problems for Agape Red's customers, ranging from small startups to outsourced contracts for large established companies. Worked primarily in Ruby on Rails with various front-end JS and CSS libraries and also developed and shipped iOS apps, sometimes doing the mobile client and web service backend for the same project.
Also work as a sales engineer and meet with potential clients and assess possible technical solutions for their projects. Assisted during the estimation process to determine scope for projects and help determine costs for different requirements.
