I cared for and helped train homeless and client dogs. This involved encountering a variety of bad behaviors that I had to assist in correcting and fixing. This job gave me invaluable experience that vastly improved my animal handling skills. I also learned a lot about dog nutrition and medication. I had to administer medication in a variety of ways. The most important part of the job to me was the fact that over 30 homeless dogs lived with us at our kennels. High drive is a training and behavior facility, but it also serves as a shelter to dogs that were at risk of being euthanized in government and state shelters. These dogs found a home with us, and through our diligent training, are more stable, balanced, and confident. The most rewarding part of the job is taking in these homeless dogs, training them, and rehoming them.
