•Led extensive, cross-team scalability efforts of an AWS service that provides seamless delivery of visual content to Alexa screen devices, in- creasing throughput from 400 to 8,000 transactions per second. Ensured high performance by conducting load and stress tests, provisioning ad- ditional hosts and threads, and implementing dynamic content selection for multiple content cards.
•As a cross-team engineer working across 5+ microservice codebases, I contributed to 12.2 million annualized dialogs, an increase of 250,000 in monthly active users, 580,000 daily active users, and a high six-figure amount in annual revenue for the Alexa Home Productivity team.
•Developed scalable and extendable GUI templates, data schemas, and rendering logic across microservices (alarms, reminders, kitchen), enabling the team to run visual experiments on Alexa screen devices. Created new APIs and established cross-domain handoffs to facilitate seamless event creation, deletion, and editing across different domains.
•Designed the infrastructure for end-to-end integration testing to sup- port Alexa screen device A/B experiments, incorporating API mocking, visual template data validation, cross-domain handoff validation and automated AWS CodePipeline testing to ensure reliability and scalab- ility.
•Enhanced operational excellence by fine-tuning our team’s service performance monitors, adding promotion blockers, rollback alarms, and experiment-specific dashboards. Developed integration testing for our service’s upsell card content and designed an override system to support automated pipeline testing and user acceptance testing.
•Onboarded and mentored newer team members on backend architecture, guiding them through the end-to-end experiment development pro- cess. Authored comprehensive documentation on service onboarding, load testing, integration testing, and experiment creation to facilitate knowledge sharing and support the team’s growth.
