# Andrew Reyes > Software is Storytelling Location: Newark, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/andrewreyes Currently creating the future of home automation and the Internet of Things at Google Nest! Ushered in a new era of truly cross-platform services at Microsoft by developing PowerPoint on the iPad, iPhone, and Mac. Previously soared to new heights and made waves in the travel industry by helping to create the future of airport lounge access at LoungeBuddy. I have experience building iOS and Mac OS X apps using Swift, Objective-C, and C++. I prefer working on user-facing features and designs -- something I can point to and say, "Look! I did that!" I am eager to learn more about mobile app development, and would also love the chance to experiment with virtual reality, device-to-device experiences, and augmented reality. Notable projects I have worked on include the release of Microsoft PowerPoint for iPad and iPhone, PowerPoint for Mac, new features for LoungeBuddy, video game projects with innovative human-computer interaction elements, web-based medical database visualization tools, and contributions to the open-source WINE project. Additionally, I have years of experience filmmaking and video editing, which has provided me with a valuable skill set, including timeline management and attention to detail. I am also interested in natural language processing and augmented reality and their promising uses in consumer technologies. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Nest Jan 2016 – Present | Palo Alto, CA Creating a home that takes care of the people inside it and the world around it. - Perfecting the first-time pairing experience between Nest and iOS devices. ### iOS Engineer @ LoungeBuddy Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 - Created new features for the LoungeBuddy iOS app with a team of four engineers; also polished and improved existing app features. - Implemented Remote Enabling/Disabling of Trip Syncing, Lounge Check-In History, and User Onboarding Tooltips. - Built the Airport Card, which displays airport information including weather, flight boarding and departure times, and gate and terminal information. - Collaborated closely with our designer to get UI and animations pixel perfect; gave constructive feedback on new app designs and mockups. - Helped the team learn more Swift, shared Swift best practices, and assisted the migration from Objective-C to Swift. ### PowerPoint for iPad, iPhone, and Mac - Software Development Engineer @ Microsoft Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 | Mountain View, CA I was on the awesome team that developed Microsoft PowerPoint for iOS, as well as the latest and greatest version of PowerPoint for Mac! - Responsible for creating useful and beautiful presentation software and services on iOS devices and on the Mac.
