# Andrew Tsakiris > Software Engineer @ Databricks Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/andrewtsakiris 4+ years of software engineering experience in startup environments. Mainly work on backend/infra. Comfortable in Go, Python, Java/Scala. Experience with mysql, mongodb, aws, terraform, kubernetes/helm, github actions/buildkite. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Databricks Jan 2022 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area Core Workspace Platform ### Software Engineer @ Robust Intelligence Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | San Francisco, California, United States Platform infrastructure ### Software Engineer, Autonomous Vehicles @ Lyft Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Palo Alto, California, United States Worked on L5's Simulation Cloud service using AWS, Kubernetes, Python, and Golang. Optimizing user workflows through seamless automated integration with Github, Buildkite, and other CI/CD technologies. I left after Level 5 (Lyft's AV division) was acquired by Woven Planet (Toyota). ### Software Engineer Intern @ ReadySet Technology, Inc. Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 Worked on introducing Read-Your-Write consistency guarantees and new aggregation operators. Became a Rustacean. ### Teaching Assistant @ Cornell University College of Engineering Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | Ithaca, New York Area For CS 2110 Object Oriented Programming and Data Structures. Plan and teach weekly discussion sections for 20 students; review and expand on material presented in lecture. Hold weekly 2-hour consulting sessions to assist students with assignments and course concepts. Work with course staff to grade exams and individual student projects. ### Software Engineering Intern, Autonomous Vehicles @ Lyft Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Palo Alto, CA Lyft Level 5 - Simulation Team Returned in 2021 for full-time role (see above) ### Software Engineering Intern @ Ridgeline Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Incline Village, NV Built an Application Health Dashboard to display live statuses of the company’s pipelines using JavaScript and React. Implemented an API using Python and the Serverless Framework with AWS to serve live data to the dashboard. Fetched and aggregated data from AWS for 4 unique metrics on each of 3 pipelines to be accessed from a separate custom API. Improved runtime of Ridgeline’s custom “AWS resource usage API” from 2+ minutes to 8 seconds, to be used by DevOps team. ### Undergraduate Researcher @ Temple University Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 Participated in the REU for Pervasive Computing at Temple University as an Undergraduate Researcher Paper/Poster accepted to the 2018 Council of Undergraduate Research's National REU Symposium in Alexandria, VA. Worked in Dr. Eduard Dragut's lab in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences on an independent portion of a larger project: Deep Learning for Flexible Entity Recognition. The goal of this project is to use deep learning models rather than regular expression-based approaches to extract identity information from messy web data. Individually developed and used a Bi-LSTM RNN using the Keras library with Python. Conducted experiments to better understand the flexibility of such a model when tested on data with typos and errors. Successfully clustered characters into groupings based on the model's behavior and developed formal relation between characters and a guiding regular expression for a given domain, which held across the 4 domains tested. Awarded 1st place in the on-site competition for best research presentation and contributions among program of 15 students. ## Education ### Master of Engineering - MEng in Computer Science Cornell University ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science Cornell University ### Acton Boxborough Regional High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/andrew-tsakiris-543917152 - Portfolio: https://andrewtsakiris.com --- Source: https://flows.cv/andrewtsakiris JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/andrewtsakiris/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-29
