# Angela Becerra, MDes > UX + Product Design Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/angelabecerramdes I’ve been a designer for 5+ years and haven’t looked back. In a former life I was on track to becoming a scientist. I took a chemistry class my freshmen year in college and loved how complex and challenging it was. It was exciting times but I soon felt detached from the work I was doing. I started to lose my passion because it was hard to connect with such small things. I decided to finish my degree and explore other options. Then I discovered UX design 😎

I was drawn to the design world because of the limitless problems to tackle. Not only that, it was centered around humans and their behavior toward each other and the world around them. Rather than these teeny, tiny cells that I find very difficult to talk to. Trust me, it feels like you’re talking to a wall. 🤖 5+ years of design experience In 2018, I enrolled in a UX bootcamp, incorporated my new-found knowledge into my job, and landed a position at Wells Fargo as a product designer. I later earned a Master's in Interaction Design at California College of the Arts in 2023. 🧬 Seasoned product designer with biology background I have a B.S. in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Cruz. In terms of complementary skills to UX/Product design, the design process is similar to the scientific method. Developing a solution begins with rigorous research, gathering insights from research, creating a hypothesis, and developing an approach. Then you replace the part where you use beakers and pipets with Figma and other design tools. Experiments and iterations are conducted until a satisfactory solution is found. ✌🏽 Committed to ethical design principles and societal impact As a Mexican woman living in the United States, I’ve experienced a fair amount of unethical design practices. I aim to create products and systems that are more inclusive of marginalized communities. ⭐️ Aiming to lead in the world of design Throughout my life, I have been involved in leadership-building programs. When I worked at Wells Fargo as a product designer, I was part of the task force that led community building activities with the entire Wells Fargo design community. In my master's program at CCA, I have been able to enhance my leadership skills through classes such as Communication by Design and Leadership by Design. Let's connect and work together to make a lasting impact through design! ## Work Experience ### Product Designer @ Momentum Design Lab, an HTEC company Jan 2024 – Present | San Mateo, California, United States - Currently a product designer for key clients.
