# Anirudh Sunkineni > Staff Software Engineer @ Coinbase Location: San Jose, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/anirudhsunkineni ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ Coinbase Jan 2021 – Present Tech Lead for P2P crypto payments, supporting mission-critical platforms processing $xxxB+ each year. Worked on initiatives across various payment channels, including fiat rails and banking integrations, remittances, and peer-to-peer crypto experiences such as Send, Receive, and Request. ### Software Engineer @ Google Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | Mountain View, California Worked on Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) which offers a comprehensive suite of productivity tools, including Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Contacts, and more. Developed the validation component for a Google Workspace data migration project for Enterprise users. My work focused on design, development and orchestration of a complex workflow, enabling efficient, fast, and large-scale validation of the migration process. ### Staff Software Engineer @ Rubrik, Inc. Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 Spearheaded the establishment of the performance lab, infrastructure, and frameworks for measuring and detecting performance regressions across key features (data backup, replication, cloud archival, etc.) of the CDM (Converged Data Management) product. Identified bottlenecks across a complex technology stack, including data transfer agents, multiple protocols, network layers, and the distributed file system. - Continuous Data Protection (CDP) Feature Development: Worked on the CDP feature, which enabled live I/O interception and streaming from VMware VMs to the CDM product. This solution facilitated near-synchronous data transfer with minimal application performance impact, achieving close to zero RPO. It also allowed recovery to any point in time, with second-level granularity. Led the testing aspects of this feature, including functional, stress, scale, performance, and UI testing. Responsibilities included test design, strategy development, tool and infrastructure creation, automation library design and implementation, and tools for measuring test effectiveness. - Developer Productivity Improvements: Initiated and drove multiple projects to enhance test productivity and effectiveness within the Test Organization. Key projects included: Auto-Triage, Timestream for data generation and validation, cross-cluster comparison tools, ELK pipelines for real-time anomaly detection, automated build regression detection & rollback (Zion), and controlled chaos monkey-style frameworks (MayhemManager), among others. ### Staff Software Engineer @ Tintri Jan 2016 – Jan 2018 Worked on the Filesystem and System Management parts of the stack, more specifically worked on a zero RPO disaster recovery feature along with support for snapshots and cloning. The feature supported synchronous replication of data across Vmstores in different datacenters. Led various aspects of the project. Responsibilities included: ● Contributing to the design and optimization of TxOS, a core storage operating system engineered to support diverse and dynamic virtualization workloads. ● Translating product and architectural requirements into scalable system designs, ensuring performance, fault tolerance, and maintainability. ● Architecting and implementing automation frameworks, infrastructure tooling, and developer libraries to enhance system validation, deployment efficiency, and observability. ● Developing diagnostic and monitoring solutions to evaluate system behavior under real-world workloads and identify opportunities for optimization. ● Collaborating closely with core systems and platform teams to address complex technical challenges, improve system robustness, and prevent regressions through proactive design and tooling strategies. ● Also worked on some special projects, including implementation of an Auto-triage tool that helped automate the first level triage performed across all the 2000 daily automated jobs run across the company ### Software Engineer III @ NetApp Jan 2014 – Jan 2016 | Sunnyvale, California Worked as a part of the AltaVault group (cloud integrated storage appliance). The appliance functioned as a transparent hot cache + archival system (backed by 20+ different cloud storage providers). As a part of this role I was also instrumental in creating a new automation framework from the ground up. Responsibilities included maintaining the framework, implementing new functionality and integrating it into the existing ecosystem. Worked on a number of other functions such as, design, developing test plans, test strategies, developing tools and automating test-cases. ### Software Engineer II @ NetApp Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 ### Software Engineer @ NetApp Jan 2012 – Jan 2014 | Greater Pittsburgh Area Within this role I worked with the WAFL protocols team (lock manager, the part that integrates NAS protocols with the filesystem) and the volume move team (data-mobility team, that facilitates the movement of logical units of data across the cluster). Special Projects: ------------------------- -Developed a prototype that collects code coverage data for all the automated tests and analyzes code changes in the developer's working repository to predict the best of tests to run by optimizing tests over several parameters such as runtime, code coverage and hit rate. Thereby reducing the chance of introduction of bugs at pre-submission time and enabling detection of GAP areas early on. -Created an automation library for Metrocluster automation using aspect oriented programming that allowed seamless transitioning of automation objects from one cluster to another. This enabled previous automation to be leveraged with the new feature without requiring any invasive changes to the testcases, significantly speeding up the automation development. -Worked on a customer use-case project to analyze thousands of customer configurations and feature combinations being used ### Teaching Assistant, CS 116 @ Illinois Institute of Technology Jan 2010 – Jan 2011 Department of Computer Science Object Oriented Programming II, CS 116 ### Teaching Assistant, CS 115 @ Illinois Institute of Technology Jan 2010 – Jan 2010 Department of Computer Science Object Oriented Programming I, CS 115 Responsible to monitor class sessions with the professor, manage lab sessions, grade labs and to hold office hours to help students with their questions. ### Teaching Assistant, ECE 100 @ Illinois Institute of Technology Jan 2010 – Jan 2010 Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering Teaching Assistant, Introduction to Profession, ECE 100 Managed lab sessions, assisted students in handling the hardware equipment and guided them to build a robot using Motorola 68CH11 microcontroller. Helped them program the robot using Interactive C. Graded lab reports and conducted performance evaluations. ### Teaching Assistant, CS 201 @ Illinois Institute of Technology Jan 2010 – Jan 2010 Department of Computer Science Accelerated Course to Java, CS 201 Manage lab sessions, grade labs & projects and to hold office hours to help students with their questions. ## Education ### Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science Illinois Institute of Technology ### BS in Computer Science Illinois Institute of Technology ### High School Fiitjee ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/anirudhsunkineni --- Source: https://flows.cv/anirudhsunkineni JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/anirudhsunkineni/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-12
