Advancing Vendor Management

I am a full stack developer working to create the premier ecommerce destination for groceries and household goods.

Critical thinking, communication, and open-mindedness made my apprenticeship with Gaslight a success. Hired with little knowledge and no real-world experience in computer programming, I used these skills to learn on the job. I worked with a team to create a Single Page Application with React, Redux, and Java. This experience exposed me to creating new functionality for an existing site, unit testing, deployments, and security management, all within an agile framework.

Since graduation, I have taken learning into my own hands! I have begun to dive into the software development world by building web applications using Ruby on Rails, attending meetups, reading online tutorials, reading about TDD, and just sitting down and busting out code.

I bring a unique skill set to the development world as a mathematician, extrovert, and problem solving enthusiast. Finding meaning from data sets is exciting to me, and my new skill with Ruby will only enhance my ability to bring that meaning to life. I have found that the same joy that there is in solving complex mathematical problems is also present in solving programming problems. I can't wait to learn more!

At the Indianapolis Bakery, one of Kroger's manufacturing plants, I worked with the Assistant Financial Manager to complete a burden study. My work this summer allowed the company to more accurately price their products. During my time at Indy Bakery, I learned that every penny and every person counts. I realized the importance of each employee being held accountable for the knowledge they have and job they perform. Along with burden study, I also audited payroll reports and receiving documents.
