# Anthony D. > Infrastructure at HashiCorp Location: Austin, Texas, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/anthonyd At present I am a Staff Engineer helping teams at HashiCorp (an IBM company) build reliable systems, powered by scalable architecture and durable execution. Previously, as Staff Engineer for the InVision (Miro) platform organization, I was responsible for architecture and operation of the global network edge and compute platform supporting cellular single-tenant and multi-tenant environments. Additionally I led an effort to develop Kubernetes operators for self-service application and infrastructure lifecycle management. As Lead Engineer of the Release Engineering team at Auth0 (Okta) I was responsible for core Build, Test and Release systems, migrating applications onto centralized Jenkins pipelines (Groovy, Bash, Terraform), and developing tools and services (Typescript, Express) used as a source of truth for artifact provenance, quality and compliance. As an engineer at Atlassian on the HipChat, Jira and Confluence teams, I created developer and deployment tools (Go, Java, JS, React) in particular as a contributor to the migration of Jira and Confluence Cloud from datacenters to AWS. Throughout my career I have demonstrated leadership and the capability to execute transformative scale-up projects at successful tech businesses. My experience spans infrastructure, architecture, devtools, back- and front-end, and quality engineering. I lead by example and get things done with pragmatism, efficiency, and empathy. ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ HashiCorp Jan 2021 – Present | Austin, TX ### Staff Software Engineer @ InVision Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | Austin, TX Owned the pluggable cloud edge serving traffic for all products, self-service deployment APIs, CI/CD, and infrastructure. Improved reliability and productivity by pragmatically updating existing practices and technologies. - Managed dozens of Kubernetes clusters for a cellular varied-tenancy architecture comprising dozens of distinct microservices. - Maintained, built, tested, deployed Cloudflare Workers for dynamic routing, and synchronous injection of tenant-specific client configuration. - Operated Kong API Gateway, including version upgrades, on-call support and capacity planning. - Maintained custom Lua plugins (e.g., dynamic routing, rate-limiting) including unit testing and bug-fixing. - Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, Kind, I can write 10,000 lines of YAML with one hand. - Operator Framework, built a meta-framework to simplify platform operator management of Kubernetes operators used in control plane operations, for example, datastore management or CI/CD. - Other things too ### Lead Engineer @ Auth0 Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Austin, TX Led initiatives to improve deployment and release infrastructure in order to support a new scale of engineering organization focused on developer productivity. Some highlights - Improved CI/CD and synthetic monitoring by creating and deploying a dynamic OAuth/OIDC flow orchestrator, which could be used to easily validate virtually every known permutation of OAuth flow with minimal user knowledge required! - Creation and deployment of a web service (Typescript, Express, and RSMQ (Redis)) and CLI application (oclif, Swagger Codegen) used to manage artifact-based deployment, including custom checks and promotion gates. - Standardized build and deployment pipelines by creating and driving adoption of shared pipeline libraries for common CI/CD tasks (Java/Groovy/Jenkins). - Led a team of engineers, including 1:1s, coaching, and team and individual goal setting. ### Software Development Engineer In Test @ Atlassian Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Austin, TX ### Quality Engineer @ Atlassian Jan 2015 – Jan 2017 | Austin, TX Led holistic and developer-centric quality improvements across various teams including HipChat Desktop, Stride Platform, Jira and Confluence Cloud teams. Held weekly mentorship session teaching React and Express. Did pair programming and code review for product features and internal tools. Worked in Sydney for several months on Atlassian's biggest project ever and loved every moment! ### Engineer @ JamKazam, Inc. Jan 2013 – Jan 2015 | Austin, TX Open-ended role owning dev/release processes and observability on an agile start-up team, from zero to 100k users. *Earlier work experiences are available on request. ## Education ### Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Ira A.
