Three libraries service serial devices and one services a TCP device. Lead designer for the serial communication protocol between proprietary hardware in the access control system to support enhanced security, specifically smart card chip technology. Researched and developed a solution for communicating between a C++ graphical user interface application and a C# dynamic link library using windows named pipes. Site representative to Department of Energy working groups; contributing to requirements and regulations for access control systems. Contributor of technical information regarding NIST specifications regarding the PIV smartcard application and interaction. Designing and planning for the next generation of the current physical access security system; including overall architecture and adherence to regulations and requirements.
