I’m a software engineer based in Austin, Texas, with a strong foundation in TypeScript, Python, JavaScript, and PHP. I’m also strong with technologies like React Native, React, Node.js, Nest.js, and a number of AWS services. My journey in software engineering has been marked by hands-on experience in both backend and frontend development, where I’ve contributed to diverse projects—from rebuilding apps for the United States Marine Corps to developing personal projects like Glympse and Good Things Happen.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to continuous learning and growth. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on key features in web and mobile applications, applying my skills in TypeScript to build robust, scalable solutions. I’m also expanding my expertise with SwiftUI and SwiftData, exploring a new language with iOS app development.

### React Native Developer - Festify App @ Personal Projects

Festify is a mobile application built to improve the festival-goer’s experience and increase exposure for smaller artists. 

This application is built using React Native for both iOS and Android. 

Using Spotify’s API, a token is generated at login for authentication. After token generation, a user can navigate to the festival of their choosing to begin listening to the artists performing at the festival at the click of a button.

At VAAM, I was in charge of the direction and vision of our product. 

My biggest role involved versatility. I designed the entire app’s UI myself by learning Sketch on the fly. 

The solving of problems in multiple areas (Business Strategy, UI, Financials) called for a lot of learning on my part, but I enjoy the brainstorming and organizing involved with problem-solving and decision-making.

Ultimately, we were able to develop a fully functional mobile application, gain a relatively large user base, and execute smart marketing plans.

Our application was written entirely in javascript using React.JS & Node.js. Javascript was selected for a multitude of reasons, the main being the versatile nature of the language! For our servers, we are utilized the services of Firebase to harbor user profile data as well as saved data from successful activity on the application.
