I am highly motivated to create robust, maintainable technical solutions. I feel compelled to fully understand whatever I am working on, for my own sake, and will dig in as deeply and get my hands as dirty as necessary to achieve that. I find myself in a constant state of learning new things, and believe that this should be true of any technologist. I value skill and attention to detail in myself and in my colleagues.

I do not find lack of familiarity to be an impediment in my work - whatever I need to learn, whatever research I need to do, and whatever level of abstraction I need to work at, I will. I am able to call upon all resources available to me, no matter how obscure, to find whatever information I am lacking and as much information as possible. I have used these abilities many times to adopt completely new technologies, tools, and paradigms, and like to describe myself as a generalist for this reason.

I have a set of deeply-held beliefs about best practices and the self-discipline to apply them consistently. I am passionate about developing clean architectures and logically, deliberately designed systems. I have a special interest in security and am always considering the security implications of my decisions. I also recognize that perfection is never a realistic goal and am comfortable evaluating trade-offs.

I believe I would be a valuable addition to any project or engineering team.
