One of the core challenges we faced was around ingesting, normalizing and indexing for search large volumes of real estate data from dozens of MLS feeds. My proudest technical achievement from this time is a notification system that would update users about properties of potential interest to them based on their recent saved searches. This scaled reliably to tens of thousands of users, dozens of MLS feeds and changing business requirements. This involved consuming MLS APIs, orchestrating asynchronous normalization and indexing tasks using message queues (RabbitMQ) subscribed to by microservices built in Node.js interfacing with postgreSQL databases, indexing data in Algolia, and sending emails programatically with Mailjet's API. ### Web Development Technical Lead @ HomeServices of America Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Austin, Texas, United States As a technical lead, I was accountable for managing scope, driving consensus around technical decisions with a bias for action, and cultivating the technical growth of my team members in addition to my individual contributions. ### Web Developer 1 @ HomeServices of America Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Austin, Texas, United States As a day 1 team member in the Home Services technical office in Austin, I participated in foundational conversations around design, technology, process and staffing. I helped build the first iteration of our CI and deployment workflow using CircleCI and Heroku. I implemented a design versioning process that reduced pull request churn by 50% ### Web Developer I @ Concierge Auctions Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Austin, Texas, United States Concierge Auctions was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services and I stayed on with B.H.H.S as a web developer As a full stack web developer, I worked in an agile process contributing where needed to the frontend codebase with React.js and Redux, GraphQL Relay, Jest, Webpack and of course HTML5/CSS3/ES6 JS, as well as to the backend with Node.js, AMQP w/RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL and Docker. My proudest technical achievement from this period is a marketing email automation project that replaced roughly 40 combined weekly hours of email building labor with an automated workflow. This was primarily a backend effort of orchestrating asynchronous tasks using message queues (RabbitMQ) consumed from by microservices built in Node.js querying postgreSQL databases and programatically managing email campaigns with Mailchimp's API ### Hacker in Residence (Teaching Assistant) @ Hack Reactor Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Austin, TX Taught JS fundamentals as well as mentored students through front end, back end and full stack projects in Hack Reactor's Advanced Software Engineering Immersive Program Built room scheduling application for internal use with Angular (versions) and the Google Calendar API Contributed original lectures on Redux;
