Brackets4Life applies the energy of March Madness to take steps towards finding a cure for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). SIDS research needs more funding and one way to achieve this is through efforts like Brackets4Life. Brackets4Life aims not to only raise money for research but also increase awareness of SIDS and the ways for mothers to reduce the risk of SIDS.
•Led a technical team to improve the website user experience using Javascript and Ruby on Rails to increase membership growth by two folds. Designed and implemented a database to track users, brackets, and scores in PostgreSQL that supports design of custom entities, with primary back-end responsibility of showcasing the Tournament leaderboard.
•Played a key role in developing a user referral program and UI showcasing core database features to improve user experience and ultimately membership growth and drive user conversions allowing us to collect over $1700 dollars from over 100 users.
•Collaborated with marketing to implement a mailing system to manage user outreach and increase awareness about SIDS.
