SIDS research needs more funding and one way to achieve this is through efforts like Brackets4Life. Brackets4Life aims not to only raise money for research but also increase awareness of SIDS and the ways for mothers to reduce the risk of SIDS. • Led a technical team to improve the website user experience using Javascript and Ruby on Rails to increase membership growth by two folds. Designed and implemented a database to track users, brackets, and scores in PostgreSQL that supports design of custom entities, with primary back-end responsibility of showcasing the Tournament leaderboard. • Played a key role in developing a user referral program and UI showcasing core database features to improve user experience and ultimately membership growth and drive user conversions allowing us to collect over $1700 dollars from over 100 users. • Collaborated with marketing to implement a mailing system to manage user outreach and increase awareness about SIDS. Technologies used: Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS, Javascript, PostgresSqL ### R&D Intern @ Medtronic Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Milpitas, CA Medtronic is the leading biomedical device company specializing in cardiovascular and spinal technologies. I was a member of the Renal Denervation Group specializing in reducing hypertension. • Lead product development process of a fixture to test the Simplicity RF generator, the group's major product, in accordance with a newly implemented service procedure. • Facilitated interdisciplinary team endeavors among R&D, Service and Quality to determine product vision and engineering plan. Wrote project plan and presented clear progress on achievable deadlines on a weekly notice to leadership teams. • Summarized and analyzed client data to determine product specifications and developed a metric to determine Generator's safety. Ran several tests on Generator to verify metrics created. • Followed product development process to design and prototype test fixture by making sketches, PCB board designs, and devising complete inventory list . • Mentored incoming intern on handling project's completion and vision and worked to create achievable project goals. ### Volunteer Research Assistant @ UCSF Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | San Francisco • Designed observational study to analyze patient risk of cardiovascular disease using Fitbit and patient lab data. • Analyzed a dataset of 10,000 rows comparing cardiovascular Health factors and Fitbit data using regression and logistic models, time series and forecasting analysis, and hypothesis testing to predict patient health and risk for cardiovascular disease using Python sk-learn and pandas packages and R regression modules. ### Software Engineering Intern @ Albeado Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | San Jose, CA Albeado is a Data Consulting startup focused on fusing human and organizational expertise with the analytical power of big data, the precision of scientific modeling and the rigor of multi-context reasoning to reveal significant new insights that would otherwise be inaccessible to either human or machine alone. As a member of the Data Science team was in charge of creating the computing environment for team to work on. • Built Jupyter iPython computing platform for Data Science team for stable and consistent product development using AWS and Docker tools while learning about how to approach data problems with PRISM knowledge base.. • Wrote data visualization modules using Python’s Bokeh package for Data Science team to use in demonstrating analysis or models created of client data. ### Human Centered Design/Marketing Committee @ ViFlex, LLC Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 ViFlex aimed to build a scalable design of low-cost, self-adjustable glasses that allow users to interchange lenses to reduce the distribution costs and the need for optometrists in developing countries. As a member of the Human Centered Design team, I was in charge of researching the glasses market to understand customer demands and market trends. • Prototyped adjustable distance glasses based on experimental trials in Nepal and India for aesthetics and cost with CAD • Analyzed human facial features and dimensions data to develop glasses that were both comfortable and attractive. • Collaborated with distributing companies to develop marketing strategies and partnerships to increase customer base.
